18 health service delivery points so far are using MyChild Solution*
*Gambia uses the alternative term of the solution, MyChild Solution
First implemented in Serrekunda Health Centre in May 2017, MyChild Solution is now used both in health facilities and during outreach sessions in Western Regions 1 and 2, working equally efficiently everywhere. Health workers have been trained in using the system, and the process of implementing in new health service delivery points in the region is underway. Since implementation, health facilities have better stock management and caregivers are receiving SMS reminders to keep track of appointments. A cost analysis found that compared to the previous HMIS system used in the country, MyChild Solution is estimated to save approximately US$6,259 per year, over a 15-year period.
By creating a record with a unique ID number for every child registered in a health centre or outreach, Shifo Birth Record provides an accurate population count for every district
Shifo works with frontline health workers, using their tools during care delivery, speaking and observing the care delivery process to define together with families, health workers, the problems and what should be improved

Health workers like Saikou have more time to provide individual counselling and care to children and families
With MyChild Solution, existing paper forms are replaced with Smart Paper Technology, and administration and reporting potentially reduced by as much as 73% per child fully immunised
Together with key actors, Shifo is working to improve reproductive, maternal and child health data in The Gambia
